Kidz Connection Director

Tracey Heldenmuth, OTR/L. Tracey is SIPT certified and has been a practicing clinician since 1986. Her other areas of specialty are Orthopedics, Hand Therapy, Neuro Developmental techniques and Handwriting programs. Certifications include Ultrasound and Electrical Stimulation, Sensory Integration and Praxis Testing. Her clinical affiliations are at Mt. Sinai Hospital Miami Beach, and Johns Hopkins. She has also worked at Easter Seals and in private clinic settings.

Lead Therapist

Joy Bowers, OTR/L, MS CCC/SLP. Joy is dually certified in Occupational and Speech Therapies. She graduated from Florida International University for Occupational Therapy and Nova Southeastern for Speech and Language Therapy. Joy is the proud mother of Kristian and she is active in her community. Joy is Lead Therapist at Kidz Connection and is also a Broward County Public School employee. She is trilingual in English, Dutch and Spanish. Joy is dually licensed, works in the public school system, and is experienced in both the adult and pediatric population. Her specialties are AutismSpectrum Disorders, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication.

Speech Therapists

Karen Langhauser, MS CCC/SLP has been practicing as an SLP since 1980. She enjoys crossword puzzles, music, traveling and spending time with her husband and sons.

Shelley Bilu, MS-CFY - Graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and from University of Florida with a minor in education. She is completing her CFY at Kidz Connection and will be working with children of all ages. She is bilingual in Hebrew and English. She enjoys exercising and reading when she is not working.

Debra Beeferman, MS CCC/SLP has been working with Kidz Connection since 2007. She enjoys working with children and currently sees our homebound and school-based clients.

Alicia Halberstein, SLPA has been working at Kidz Connection since 2007. She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires as Licentiate of Speech & Language and Audiology. She currently works full time at Easter Seals South Florida as SLPA. She is the proud mother of a son and daughter living in Buenos Aires. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Tatsiana Ostrushenko, MS-CFY graduated with her Master's Degree in Speech Langauge Pathology from FIU in 2008. She is completing her CFY at Kidz Connection. She enjoys working with children and adults. She speaks Russian, Belarusian and English. Her hobbies are shopping and spending time with her friends and family.

Physical Therapists

Ivette Citron-Tamari, RPT has been working with Kidz Connection since 2007. She is currently working in the school system. Yvette graduated from Daemen College in Amherst, New York. She is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Catherine Mitchell, MSPT recently joined Kidz Connection and works in the clinic after school hours. Cat has been working in the school system since 1982 and is interested in computers and spending time with her godson. She enjoys reading comic books and loves working with children.

Robbie Lopez, PTA. has been working with Kidz Connection since 2003. Graduated in 1997 with honors from Miami Dade Community Medical Campus. He is the proud father of two girls. Robbie enjoys working with children.

Lissette Herrera, PTA completed the physical therapy assistant program and graduated from Broward Community College. She is active in her church and the ministries. Lissette is passionate about her clients and helping people. She is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Occupational Therapists

Marie Taina Dominique, OT- Graduated from Florida International University in 2008. She completed her clinical internship at Kidz Connection in 2007. She is trilingual in French, Creole and English. Her interests includes reading, dancing, and exercising
