Tracey Heldenmuth
Tracey is SIPT certified and has been a practicing clinician since 1986. Her other areas of specialty are Orthopedics, Hand Therapy, Neuro Developmental techniques and Handwriting programs. Certifications include Ultrasound and Electrical Stimulation, Sensory Integration and Praxis Testing. Her clinical affiliations are at Mt. Sinai Hospital Miami Beach, and Johns Hopkins. She has also worked at Easter Seals and in private clinic settings. Volunteered for project Medishare in earthquake relief and recovery.
Occupational Therapists

Marie Taina Dominique, MOTR/L
She graduated from FIU in 2008 with a Masters in Occupational therapy. She is fluent in French, Creole and English. Her interests include traveling, exercising, and reading. She traveled to Haiti in 2010 to help earthquake victims.

Amanda Quero, MOTR/L
Amanda Quero Has joined Kidz Connection in February of 2011. She completed her internship at K.C. and has been working in mental health with adolescents with behavioral disorders. She also completed an internship at Island Dolphin Care and enjoys working with children and teens. Amanda graduated from FIU with her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2009. She is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Joy Bowers, OTR/L, MS CCC/SLP
Joy is dually certified in Occupational and Speech Therapies. She graduated from Florida International University for Occupational Therapy and Nova Southeastern for Speech and Language Therapy. Joy is the proud mother of Kristian and she is active in her community. Joy is Lead Therapist at Kidz Connection and is also a Broward County Public School employee. She is trilingual in English, Dutch and Spanish. Joy is dually licensed, works in the public school system, and is experienced in both the adult and pediatric population. Her specialties are AutismSpectrum Disorders, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication.

Karen Langhauser, MS CCC/SLP
Karen has been practicing as an SLP since 1980. She enjoys crossword puzzles, music, traveling and spending time with her husband and sons.
Shelley Farin, MSCCC/SLP
Shelley is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology. She graduated from Nova Southeastern with a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology. She has a minor in education from University of Florida. She has been a part of our practice since September 2008. She is bilingual in Hebrew and English. Shelley enjoys traveling, exercising and reading.

Meital graduated with a Masters in Science from Nova Southeastern. Meital also has a Bachelors of Science in Communication disorders from UCF. Meital is fluent in Hebrew, English and Russian. Meital is looking forward to having her first child in 2011.

Alicia Halberstein, SLPA
has been working at Kidz Connection since 2007. She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires as Licentiate of Speech & Language and Audiology. She currently works full time at Easter Seals South Florida as SLPA. She is the proud mother of a son and daughter living in Buenos Aires. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Physical Therapists
Jessielynn Avila, DPT
joined Kidz Connection January 2011 she has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Jessielynn graduated from FIU with a Bachelors in Health Science. She completed an internship in Pediatrics at Children's Therapy services in Coral Springs, FL. She has experience in Pediatric Hippo Therapy and Aqua Therapy. She is bilingual and enjoys working with children. Jessie is interested in music and belongs to a choir.

Catherine Mitchell, MSPT
Recently joined Kidz Connection and works in the clinic after school hours. Cat has been working in the school system since 1982 and is interested in computers and spending time with her godson. She enjoys reading comic books and loves working with children.
